Last night we visited Banksy's Dismaland in Weston-Super-Mare for the second time, this time at night to take some photos of the greatly illuminated art work against the stunning seaside sunset. Amazing place and great creativity for inspiration.
Julie & Mike
On Saturday we met with the lovely Julie & Mike prior to their September wedding. We spend some time getting to know them better and going through their big day's events and planning. We took Julie & Mike for a photo shoot locally to the couple to make them feel more comfortable in front of the camera and to give some posing tips. This is great practice for the wedding day and helps getting to know all those important valuable little details. It was a lovely and very hot day. We are looking forward to the wedding day!
1-2-1 Training with Lee
Lee contacted us to help him with his new Nikon D5300. We dedicated a whole afternoon of 1-2-1 training to Lee and took him through the features of his new camera and how he may use them to best effect.
The images below show you how well he progressed. The first image is an example of how Lee learnt to balance the available light with a little flash light.
- 1/5: Exposing for the model
- 2/5: Exposing for the background
- 3/5: Using straight on flash to light the model
- 4/5: Using flash exposure compensation
- 5/5: Using directional flash to give dimension to the model
The second image was taken by Lee after he was quickly introduced to an example of studio lighting. Considering Lee arrived with limited knowledge of the exposure triangle he did remarkably well to get to this point in such a short period of time.

Lace is more
We have discovered a lovely shop in Boyton, at a local food and arts centre in the heart of the Wylye Valley - "Lace Is More" (www.laceismore.co.uk) run by the amazingly talented Verity. Wedding dresses, accessories, sewing tuition and amazing haberdashery. You may see some photos soon on our pages.
Costumes & props
Yesterday we had fun scouting some costume & prop hire companies and some lovely outdoor and indoor locations for photo shoots in the area.
Limited bookings available this Summer
Unfortunately one of the team is going to be a guest of the NHS soon which will mean we will have to limit our bookings for this Summer.
